Water, Climate Action and Green Space Draft Goal 4: Preserve and protect natural ecosystems.

a. Maintain natural open space 

b. Restore wildlife connectivity to regional green spaces 

c. Restore ecological corridors  

d. Improve access & connectivity to parks and open space 

e. Develop green space equitably across the city  

f. Encourage direct contact with nature  

g. Manage for multiple benefits 

h. Increase tree canopies with native/climate adapted, drought-resistant, food bearing trees and vegetation  

i. Preserve existing plants and trees 

j. Protect and preserve urban and regional green open spaces  

k. Provide and promote education on landscaping with drought resistant native plants 

l. Maximize efficient use of space and infrastructure through urban infill that preserves open spaces 

m. Preserve and restore riparian areas and shallow groundwater dependent ecosystems 

n. Promote functioning ecosystems with healthy watersheds 

o. Promote wildlife education
